Richard Norris is a musician and producer who Electronic Sound magazine recently called ‘the electronic musician’s electronic musician’. He has a long history in music, creating one of the UK’s first acid house albums, ‘Jack The Tab’, then forming the Grid, who had 10 UK hits including the million selling ‘Swamp Thing’, and then creating Beyond The Wizards Sleeve, his psychedelic project with Erol Alkan. He has also remixed hundreds of artists including Brian Eno, the Chemical Brothers, Tame Impala, Pet Shop Boys, Happy Mondays and many more.
In 2019 Norris formed the Group Mind label to release ambient and electronic albums. Two volumes of the ‘Abstractions’ ambient series were released in 2019, to be followed by ‘Elements’, a new electronic and deep listening album for 2020. His current live show debuted at Nile Rodgers Meltdown Festival at the Southbank, London, in 2019, and has expanded with new visuals by Blue Carbon for the hypnotic, immersive new ‘Elements’ live show.
Mawhrin Skel (A.K.A Andrew Culture) has spent most of his life as a bass-guitar-troubling roustabout in a multitude of bands ranging from loud pounding bands like ZEEB? to more contemplative post-rock explorers These Are End Times. In November 2018 These Are End Times drew to a natural end and Andrew made a concerted effort to fight his way out of the bass playing comfort zone he had made his aural nest. Armed with little more than a cheap field recorder and some half-broken keyboards Mawhrin Skel was born. Mawhrin Skel creates gently meandering textures of sound interspersed with string arrangements, brass ensembles and whatever else he can lay his hands on. During 2019 Mawhrin Skel released six albums. All of which can be found on your favourite streaming service via https://songwhip.com/artist/mawhrin-skel or at https://mawhrinskel.com/
